DISCOVER THE MAGIC OF VIENNA
Feel the timeless Zeitgeist

Viennese glamour at a glance

The Austrian capital of Vienna around 1900 and time after was a melting pot of modernity – an explosive moment of art, science and philosophy. The famous painter Gustav Klimt and his "Vienna Secession" created a revolutionary aesthetic with Art Nouveau, the forerunner of Art Déco. Fellow artists Egon Schiele and Oskar Kokoschka explored the limits of expression. Sigmund Freud changed our understanding of humanity with psychoanalysis, while Arnold Schönberg redefined music. Writers like Arthur Schnitzler and Stefan Zweig captured the social upheaval, inspired by salon culture and muses like Alma Mahler. This era still shapes Vienna today, in its museums, coffee houses, its culture and – of course – shops like Vienna19plus.
